I came to this event with Mind the Gap. I enjoyed the event a lot. It is so valuable to bring young people, teachers, support workers, employers together and share ideas/ concerns/ inspirations as well as working together in the form of forum theatre. We are all in this together.
Devising the forum theatre with the young people has been such a pleasure. It was thrilling to see them shine on stage! From being shy and nervous, to being really excited and articulate!

At Brent Mencap we employ people with learning disabilities and we have had a good experience. The important thing to know is that people with learning disabilities are not all the same - as with all people, some are hard working and some are not. It is important to give everyone a chance and assess their good points and bad points.
The most inspiring thing about working with people with learning disabilities is their different perspective and life experience.
